Intermediate Hebrew Course

Sundays 2, 23, 30 September & 7 October, 10.30am

Rabbi Jonathan leads this course for those who are seeking to boost their basic skills in Hebrew. The course is designed as a follow on from Hebrew From Zero and is suitable for adults and children who have basic Hebrew reading skills.
The course will include preparation and understanding of a Torah call-up and a prayer from the service.

Join the LBC community as we celebrate the Festival of Sukkot! On Sunday 23 October come at 4:30pm and help us to decorate the Sukkah, enjoy the sausage sizzle and stay on for our short Festival of Sukkot service. On Monday 24 September join our Festival Morning Service starting at 10am.

LBCinema – Last Dance

Come along to the October LBCinema showing of Last Dance, an Australian hostage drama that uses the Israel-Palestine question, Islamist terrorism, the Holocaust and notions of personal cowardice and forgiveness as its dramatic fuel. The plot centres on an elderly Jewish lady held hostage in her Melbourne flat by an injured terrorist on the run after a deadly bombing of a synagogue. Entry $10.

HoS Study Session: Tuning the Heart

Maimonides talks about ‘Tuning the Heart’ – preparing ourselves to be receptive to the season of Repentance. LBC House of Study presents a study session led by Israeli student Rabbi Dahlia Shaham. Dahlia’s professional background is in international law, policy research and political risk assessment.
