Our weekly services are appreciated for their warm and friendly welcome, the music and the prayerful and reflective atmosphere. Our Shabbat morning services usually last about two hours and conclude with kiddush, a glass of wine a piece of challah bread and some nibbles.
Once a month we have a chavurah (shared) Shabbat lunch with a guest speaker.
We are proud to use the special Mishkan T’filah prayer book which is in use across Progressive congregations in Australia, New Zealand and South Africa, based on that used in America, particularly because our Rabbi Jonathan Keren-Black was the Editorial Team Leader. Weighty and packed with thought-provoking material for both home and synagogue use, it brings even more richness to our prayers. (It can be borrowed when you visit for the service or purchased from the office.)
